8 Notts AC athletes participated in the British Masters Indoor Championships at Lee Valley over the weekend of the 17th and 18th March.
In the distance events David Oxland (M60) won the 1500m in 4.54.01. The 3000m was billed as a world record attempt with Nick Rose, Mick Hagar and David oxland. Unfortunately Mick Hagar was injured and neither Nick Rose nor David Oxland could sustain the pace required for the world record. It was a close event and David Oxland just pipped Nick Rose on the line to win his second title in 10.06.24.
In the sprints there were several medals won. In the 400m Paul Anthony (M60) was 2nd in 61.62. Fiona Palmer (W40) was 4th in 62.94. In the 200m Fiona Palmer was 2nd in 27.59 (a personal best time), Laurie Dunn (M65) was 4th in 30.80, Paul Anthony 5th in 27.87 and Gia Skervin (W35) 5th in 27.66. In the 60m Gia Skervin was 2nd in 8.07. In the heats of the 60m Raph Smith (M40) wa 4th in 7.91, Phil Clayton (M50) 4th in 8.33 and Laurie Dunn 6th in 9.27.
Two athletes competed in the long jump. Laurie Dunn won with 4.25m and Mark Lawrence (M40) was 3rd with 6.15m.
