British Masters Indoors Championships Lee Valley 17th & 18th March 2012

8 Notts AC athletes participated in the British Masters Indoor Championships at Lee Valley over the weekend of the 17^th and 18^th March.

In the distance events David Oxland (M60) won the 1500m in 4.54.01. The 3000m was billed as a world record attempt with Nick Rose, Mick Hagar and David oxland. Unfortunately Mick Hagar was injured and neither Nick Rose nor David Oxland could sustain the pace required for the world record. It was a close event and David Oxland just pipped Nick Rose on the line to win his second title in 10.06.24.

In the sprints there were several medals won. In the 400m Paul Anthony (M60) was 2^nd in 61.62. Fiona Palmer (W40) was 4^th in 62.94. In the 200m Fiona Palmer was 2^nd in 27.59 (a personal best time), Laurie Dunn (M65) was 4^th in 30.80, Paul Anthony 5^th in 27.87 and Gia Skervin (W35) 5^th in 27.66. In the 60m Gia Skervin was 2^nd in 8.07. In the heats of the 60m Raph Smith (M40) wa 4^th in 7.91, Phil Clayton (M50) 4^th in 8.33 and Laurie Dunn 6^th in 9.27.

Two athletes competed in the long jump. Laurie Dunn won with 4.25m and Mark Lawrence (M40) was 3^rd with 6.15m.
