Notts AC Masters

Notts Masters runners do well at Jagermeister 10K

Only a small contingent of Notts ACs runners turned out on a warm evening to run along with over 350 other runners in the Jagermeister 10K on !0 th August 2007. This was also the Notts AAAs County Championship and the small turnout ,with none of the elite runners from the club being there, could have meant little or no success for Notts.

However the Masters athletes shone through ,with Steve Jennings being the best placed runner for the club at 15 th in 36 minutes 27 seconds. Steve won third placed open prize for over 40s and a AAAs Silver medal in his 40-49 age class. This is despite the fact he will soon be turning 50.

Hot on Steve's heels was David Oxland, age 56, who came 16 th overall in 36 minutes 33 seconds and comfortably won both the over 50s open prize and the AAAs Gold medal in his 50-59 age class.Richard Belton came through in 26 th position in 37 minutes 57 seconds.

Ken Allen, aged 60, who came in in 69 th position in 41 minutes 59 seconds, added to his tally of County medals this year with bronze in the over 60s age group and he was followed by Tracy Hallam ,who was first lady home for the club in 86 th position in 43 minutes 11 seconds which was good enough to win Tracy an open prize in her age category.

Loraine Botham had a decent run on the night finishing in 197 th position in 50 minutes 36 seconds.Meanwhile Ken's wife Pat Allen took the County Bronze medal in her age category, coming home in 273 rd position in 55 mniutes 48 seconds.
