Notts AC Codes Of Conduct
Notts AC hope that all members and associates will enjoy themselves, whilst maintaining a code of conduct reflecting respect and appropriate behaviour to others. It is for this reason that there is a Code of Conduct for both athletes and parents / carers to ensure that all associated with the club are aware of the standards of behaviour that are expected. Please take time to read this to ensure that your behaviour will not prevent others enjoying their time at Notts AC

Parents / Carers

Check out the people who are coaching and managing your child
Take an active interest in your child's participation
Attend training and competitions whenever possible
Ensure that your child does not take unnecessary valuable items to training or competitions.
Know exactly where your child will be at all times and who they are with
Return a written informed consent form to the Club/Team Manager/Chaperone, including next of kin details, health and medical requirements, before your child goes to any "away” events
Inform your child's coach of any illness or disability that needs to be taken into athletic consideration for athletic performance
Provide any necessary medication for the duration of any trips
Never make assumptions about your child's safety

Athletes

Notts AC is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members.
The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, junior athletes are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with Angela Dymond, Welfare Officer. As a member of Notts AC, you are expected to abide by the following club rules

All members must compete within the rules and respect officials and their decisions
All members must respect opponents
Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late. As much, notice, as possible must be given if calling off from a competition
Members must wear suitable kit - vest/ tee shirt and shorts, and bring adequate warm and dry clothing if appropriate - for training and match sessions as agreed with the coach/team manager
Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly
Uphold the same values of the field as you do when engaged in athletics
Anticipate your own needs, be organised and on time
Inform your coach of any other training you are receiving
Show patience with and respect diversity in others
Act with dignity at all times
Notify a responsible adult if you have to go somewhere (what, where and when you will return)
Not respond if someone seeks private information, unrelated to athletics e.g. home life
Use safe transport or travel arrangements
Avoid destructive behaviour and leave athletic venues as you find them
Never engage in any illegal or irresponsible behaviour
Challenge anyone whose behaviour falls below the expected standard of "Athletics Welfare”
Speak out immediately if anything makes you concerned or uncomfortable (telling your parents/carers and or the Welfare Officer) or if you suspect a clubmate has suffered from misconduct by someone else
