Notts AC have UK Athletics qualified coaches over a variety of events and offer quality facilities. We hope that we are the place to meet your athletic needs. Normal club nights are Tuesday and Thursday from 1730 - 2030, but you will soon find that each coach offers a variety of other training opportunities, with weekend sessions or gym sessions happening all over the place.
Each athlete is an individual, as such your training requirements will differ from others. The combination of training sessions for you is likely to be different than for others, so if you are not invited to something, don't feel you are being snubbed, it possibly just isn't appropriate for you at the particular stage of your development.
We find it is beneficial to talk to your coach as soon as possible about your ambitions for the sport. By doing so your coach will know what your ambitions are and will be able to help you work towards them. If the coach does not know what direction you want to work, this will only cause confusion, so have a chat as soon as you can. If you are unsure about what you want to do, speak to one of the other athletes, most are friendly and will be happy to share their experiences with you.
The club competes in track and field leagues at county, Midland and National levels, we should therefore be able to meet the competitive aims of all athletes. We also compete in veteran leagues, so no one should miss out. In addition, there are a number of open meetings or championships that you will be able to take part in.
If you are new to the sport, do not allow the thought of competition to put you off. You will find the likes of the Nottingham City League less intense than a normal training session so there is no reason not to get involved. In addition, during the winter, there are indoor competitions that you can enter. Included in the clubs welcome pack you will find an information sheet on competition which will hopefully let you know what is available, but if you are in doubt please ask.
