Q - My child (under 14s) is interested in trying out athletics for the first time, how do we get started?

The best way to get involved is to attend our junior athletics induction night, which take place once a month, after that you can get involved in regular training sessions with the club.

Q – I’m over the age of 14, how do I get involved?

Email nottsac@promotionaldisplays.co.uk stating your age and what it is you would like to do and we can put you in touch with the correct coach.
Q – I am a beginner, is the minimum standard required to join the club?
​
No, anyone is welcome to join the club and its training groups. With the right training environment provided by the club members are able to develop their skills and abilities at their own pace.

Q – I’m not a member, can I use the track facilities?
​
Yes, during Notts AC booking times you can use the track facilities for £7 cash. Please note members take priority during these periods when it comes to use of equipment such as long jump pits. All throws must be supervised by a qualified coach.
Notts AC have bookings on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, plus Saturday mornings (when not booked for competitions)

Outside of these times you need to speak to Nottingham City Council about using the track.
Q – Do I need to be a member to join the clubs training groups?
​
After an initial trial period, yes you do need to become a full member of the club. We do welcome members of other clubs and also students attending university in the city without needing to join the club.
Q – If I am a member, am I expected to compete?
​
All members are encouraged to compete for the club, its great fun as well as a highly motivating way to improve your athletic performances.
Q – I am a disabled person / have additional support needs, can the club support me?
​
Yes, please contact us directly so we can better understand how to support you to get involved the sport.
Q – I don’t compete in the sport but still want to be involved, what other options are there?
​
The club is actively recruiting more officials and coaches and would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved. We can support you to get qualified. Coaches & officials are highly valued members of our teams and we cannot run the sport without them.

We also have volunteering opportunities across the various competitions we promote.
