Want to give athletics a try? We cater for 8-14 year olds in our junior athletics, its a great way to have a go in a fun and friendly environment.

Getting started - Induction nights

On arrival, please report to the Notts AC Clubhouse (beside the running track) at Harvey Hadden Stadium, Nottingham, NG8 4PB. No need to book in advance - just come along and enrol on the night..
The session lasts approximately 1 hour, beginning at 6.00pm and finishing shortly before 7pm. Parents/ carers will need to complete and sign our Registration & Consent form and pay the session fee of £5.00. The children attending will be collected from the Clubhouse by our coaches, whilst parents are given a short introductory talk and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
Following intake Night, we offer a trial period of 4 sessions on either of our young athlete training nights (Mondays and Wednesdays, either 5.00 – 6.00pm or 6.00 – 7.00pm). If children wish to continue athletics training with us after this period, they will be requested to sign up to full Notts AC membership which will enable them to take part in competition.
Children will need to wear suitable casual clothes/trainers and bring a non-fizzy drink.
A pack of information is supplied on the night which should answer most parental queries and also explain our expectations of your child/children as members of Notts AC.

Session days and times
Once you have attended an induction session, timings are as follows:

Every Monday & Wednesday, sessions start at 5pm and 6pm and last one hour.
Except bank holidays.
Harvey Hadden Stadium, Nottingham, NG8 4PB - meet at the clubhouse.

What to expect
Juniors get to try out all different types of athletic events, sprints, running, jumps and throws. The focus is on fun, making new friends and just having a go!

Many of our young athletes go on to join more specialist groups once they find an event they like, and then stay with the club for years.

Your child will need to wear suitable casual clothes and trainers, bring a drink (not fizzy). Light refreshments are available in the clubhouse/shop. A pack of information is supplied on the night which should answer most of your/ your parents queries and also explain our expectations of you as a member of Notts AC.

Competitions
The club enters a range of competitions for junior athletes which are open to all fully paid members. Please speak to our coaches for more information.

How much does it cost?
Session fee of £5.00 (cash only). For the first month your child can attend as many sessions as they like, after that point we ask you join the club as a member.
