How to get involved

Our Induction nights are the best way to get started.

Potential new young members aged 8 to 14 are welcome to the club by first attending one of our induction sessions (dates above). The session will last approximately 1 hour starting at 6pm and finishing shortly before 7pm, please arrive from 5.30pm to enrol. No need to book

Parents / careers will need to complete and sign our Registration & Consent form and pay the session fee of £5.00 (cash only). The session begins just before 6pm and finishes at 7pm. The children attending will be collected from the Clubhouse by our coaches, whilst parents are given a short introductory talk and have the opportunity to ask any questions.

After each Intake Night, we then operate a trial period until the end of that month – during which time children may attend as many Monday and Wednesday training sessions (from EITHER 5 – 6pm OR 6 – 7pm) as they choose. If they wish to continue athletics training with us after this trial period, they will be requested to sign up to full Notts AC membership.

Please report to the Notts AC Clubhouse, within the stadium gates at Harvey Hadden Sports Village and enrol from 5:30pm onwards ready for 6pm start. No need to book – just come along to Harvey Hadden Stadium, Nottingham, NG8 4PB

What to expect

Juniors get to try out all different types of athletic events, sprints, running, jumps and throws. The focus is on fun, making new friends and just having a go!

Many of our young athletes go on to join more specialist groups once they find an event they like, and then stay with the club for years.

Your child will need to wear suitable casual clothes and trainers, bring a drink (not fizzy). Light refreshments are available in the clubhouse/shop. A pack of information is supplied on the night which should answer most of your/ your parents queries and also explain our expectations of you as a member of Notts AC.

Competitions

The club enters a range of competitions for junior athletes which are open to all fully paid members. Please speak to our coaches for more information.
