All Notts AC formal training groups are overseen by UKA licensed coaches

The UKA Coach Licence Scheme provides assurance to athletes, parents, employers and clubs that the licenced Athletics Coach is:

  • Trained and Qualified;

  • Vetted and checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), or similar schemes in Scotland and Northern Ireland;

  • Insured;

  • Working to minimum levels of standards of practice and behaviour;

  • Subject to appropriate codes of conduct, rules and procedures;

  • A fit and proper person to engage in coaching athletes, including young and vulnerable people.

Junior Athletics

Training for children aged 8 to 15 years old is held on Mondays & Wednesday's from 5pm and again at 6pm. 

For 15+ these take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm.

All sessions take place at Harvey Hadden.

Just turn up to the track and speak to the people in the cabin or club house.

(indoors Sept-March, outdoors April-August)

Sunday afternoon Harvey Hadden Sports Village (indoors all year)

Ages - 10 years upwards

From complete beginners of all ages, juniors, youth, adults, Masters and Decathletes (PV specific)

Horizontal Jumps (Long Jump & Triple Jump)

Coaches: Joe McColgan & Nigel Kesteven

 Meeting times: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.30pm to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 12pm 

 Ages - mainly under 17 and above

 From October to March the Thursday and Saturday coaching sessions are held indoors using the jumping pit in the main Harvey Hadden Sports Centre. The Tuesday session in the Winter is on the outdoor track and mainly involves speed work and conditioning for long and triple jump.

 The sessions will enable athletes to progress their performance in long and triple jump. Combined events athletes wishing to work on long jump are also very welcome. Students welcome.

Throws (Hammer, Discus, Javelin and Shot)

Coaches:

Paul Bean (All Throws), Scott Knighton (Javelin specific) 

Meeting times:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.00pm to 8pm

Saturday 10am to 12pm at Harvey Hadden.

Scott - Thursdays 6.30pm to 8pm at Harvey Hadden.

Ages - mainly under 17 and above.

Athlete numbers and training day availability dependent on maintaining quality cage time and coaching.

Combined events athletes and students welcome.

Athletes training at Wollaton Park

Junior Endurance Group

The JMD trains on track at Harvey Hadden stadium on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-7:30pm, and off site (usually at Wollaton Hall) on Saturday at 10am.
We target the middle distance races (800m, 1500m and 3k) for athletes from Under 11 to Under 20 age groups.
We also compete in road races and XC during the winter season.
The group is coached by Tom with assistant coaches Emma,& Lee.

Senior Endurance

The Senior Group trains on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30-8pm, alternating between the track at Harvey Hadden and a number of road venues around Nottingham.
The group is coached by Pete Trev & Chris.
We target track, road and XC distances from 800m to the Marathon.
