At the club’s recent AGM, a proposal was approved to introduce a road running category of (senior or masters) member of the club at £30 per member plus the EA affiliation fee of £23.
This is just over one half of the normal membership fee including EA of £100 and will entitle those members to train from the clubhouse on club nights, join any coaching groups on the road or in parks and run free of charge in the Summer League and North Midlands Cross-Country league. They can represent the club in road and cross-country relays if selected. They will be treated as non-members in respect of use of the track and field and club-house gym facilities unless they later choose to upgrade to full membership although could train occasionally on the track for the non-member’s fee of £8 per evening or Saturday morning .
It is intended to offer induction sessions for road runners on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings and have regular road running groups starting from the club-house at Harvey Hadden stadium on those evenings.
The membership will be available from the start of 2026 when the new membership year starts.
If you are interested, please phone David Oxland on 07811445161.
